"What's Your Clique?"

What do you think about when you hear the word clique? Do you think about people in large groups or categories? Such as athletes, cheerleaders, class clowns, geeks, nerds, etc? On TV, they make it seem like cliques are all fun and games, but it's really different in reality. Well, at our school, we have all those cliques and more, but it's not as intense as you see on TV. To start off, you have the jocks, which are the star athletes who are cocky and popular, and don't have to worry about their grades. They can take a full ride on a athletic scholarship. Next, you have the preps, who are always concerned about their looks, they're outgoing and highly sociable at times. Most people come from a high-income family, they basically have everything handed to them on a silver platter. Then, you have the nerds, who are shy,and geeky. They are more into their books, then their actual looks. I must say though, the nerds are the ones who are most likely to have a successful career. Now you have the Band/Choir Posse, they can;t live a day without humming a tune, or conjuring up a beat. The Goths/Emo's, well they have their own story to tell. They wear black, they look sad or depressed, sometimes angry. They depseratley try to make statements, and they often wear clothes of the opposite gender. Last but not least, you have the Loners (or the Outkast). They tend to keep to themselves at ALL times, you never really see them talk or associate with other people. Overall, at Southern, these cliques aren't as overrated as they may seem.
